20 Percent Starter/Grower

Can I feed this throughout the life of my Cornish X chickens?

That's why I use, as long as it's not medicated. Some folks prefer higher percentages of protein. I'm happy with the 20%.

With the exception of 1 bag of 24% my cornishx have been on Flock Raiser 20% their whole lives. They will be 8 weeks on Monday. I started with 20, lost 1 the first week, and the rest are doing fantastic. 8 of them are going to the livestock show tomorrow. I am guessing they are around the 8lb mark now.

Thanks guys, I will keep them on the starter/grower 20% for their 8 short weeks. I got 4 of our first meat birds at tractor supply today...how much does each bird eat for the whole 8 weeks?

I might be remembering a bit off, but usually plan about 15lbs per bird for the 8 weeks, give or take.

That sounds about right. I went through 400 lbs for my 19 birds - but I also was feeding some other chicks in the brooder as well.

I haven't heard any of my broilers make any noise at all....They are actually very quite!

i had some a few yrs back don't remember them crowing at all.
