I swear, I have no patience in the waiting game! I have 2 Buff Brahmas, (Snugs, and Sally)same hatch date, same clutch. They have both always looked different. 20 1/2 weeks old today.
I questioned weather or not Snugs was a roo for much of her youth...just based on the look on her face! :) I have come to find out that she is farsighted, which may be why her eyes look droopy..(and mean!)
Now...seemingly suddenly, Sally grew big wattles and lobes overnite! Snugs has tiny pink wattles and no lobes from ears at all....hmmm....can 2 females mature at different rates? Could this just mean that Sally is closer to laying? Or crowing???!!
Not seeing any hackles on either...in fact, body size shape and color is basically identical....the only difference is in the face!
Showing some pics for comparison.

Sally...very red faced!

Now Snugs..much paler face, no lobes, no wattles...

And here is the best side by side comparison I could get....Snugs far left, Sally far right...

Is that what I should expect to happen when Snugs is ready as well? Is there a reason why they a re so different? I guess people are different too, so chickens may as well be!
I swear, the wattles and lobes grew overnite! Freaked me out! :)

Go to any middle school and see how different the kids develop.

Both pullets. Eggs soon from the first one.

Thank you everyone! I am hoping I get some eggs soon!!!!. Also have 4 ee's that are 18 weeks.....the waiting is killing me! :)
