That's a big start!!!! Do you have enough roosting space and henhouse space and also run or free-range space for the 200 new ones plus the ones you have now? They will grow faster than you can believe!!!

I raised 56 this summer.... straight run and now the henhouse is FULL!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I would love to see your brooder setup, chicken house and roosting area. I also have a lot of birds and perhaps I could get some more ideas from you.

Have fun!

COngrats! If you can afford it-koodos!!!!

I always have around 150 in Summer-freeranging too-they wreak havoc on Dh's flower gardens haha-but I think he secretly enjoys watching them sneak when he's not looking!

Thanks for all the post guys and girls....I just started to rent a barn thats 4900 sf. Its all open and gives plenty of room for the birds. Even with the 100 or so full grown birds they keep it pretty warm in the barn. For the roost i have started to collect limbs and logs from the woods to place in the barn for a natrual roost. Now in the spring i have an option to rent the rest of the farm and that will give me 208 acers. I see portable coops in my future..I will be happy to post pics as i get them. Oh, no one around here does this but we will start in the spring. We are going to do a (PICK YOUR OWN EGG DAY). It will be cool to see kids getting eggs out of the nesting boxes.........To be cont.....jim
