Thanks, everyone. I am going to try a different layout but I thought this one worked pretty good.This is only the second block I've ever made, even though I have always wanted to quilt.

Acres, I got lucky about 2 years ago and got that chicken fabric on ebay. The lady was selling 5" squares so I bought what she had. I was just waiting for the special project with which to use them. They are perfect for a nine patch.

Marlinchaser, orange and purple were not exactly what I was picturing for my friendship quilt in the beginning, but I am now convinced that I will be happy with any block anyone sends me.

LOL!!! Will that be my block? I will love it, no matter what the colors, in fact Wild and Acre, you can change my preferences to "Any", I am excited to get everyone's block and don't really want to limit anyone's creativity so whatever is fine..even orange and purple, lol!!!!

Acre, I'm so glad you like the blocks and that they came at a time that you needed some cheering up (not that I'm glad that you needed cheering up... grrr... I can't seem to say what I mean, but I think you understand what I'm trying to say). Let me know if you want any labels... mine came yesterday.

Leepsy, nice block!

I just keep running across chicken fabric everywhere I go. I found the chicky fabric I posted a few pages back at my local Ben Franklin's store (I grew up calling it the "5 and 10"). They have some fabric, not a huge selection, but it's the only place to get fabric that isn't nearly an hour away! The goldish fabric with brown chickens and the white with the green vines and chickens both came from that store as well. The blue with chickens came from Walmart. The goldish fabric with the dark red roosters on it came from a quilt shop I happened across a couple hours away when I was stuck waiting until an evening meeting for work (I got some with sheep and some with bees on it there, too).

I am so addicted to fabric... now I want to go shopping for some more! lol.

The orange I got was in the Dayglow section, its bright, but it doesnt really Glow.
