One week old yesterday. Convinced her to play dead in presence of the dog (not in shot but definitely stood there).

Just thought I would add my chicks into the mix. 4 were hatched in the incubator and 3 are under mum but a bit shy. Chicks under mum only 2 days old! Other chicks are 6 days old.

She is a great mum too, although she wouldn't take the 4 older ones so they are at one end of the pen under a heat pad while mum is at the other with hers. I have another mum who has just hatched at least 2 but there are still in hiding!!

Lovely! what kind of hen is she? I have one the same but dont know what she is

She looks like a goldtop (silkie x light Sussex). Very reliable broodies!

Yes you are correct, Dad was a partridge colour Silkie and Mum was a Light Sussex, both bantams. She is a beautiful colour and a lovely natured bird.
