I feel for you both it is so hard when they are struggling but you give them the best chance, more than they would have ever had. You guys make their short life the best that it can be. Sorry for the struggles and loss

Thank you both, I think most all of us probably go thru the exact same emotional rollercoaster during these times. It is great to hear that you are not alone. Those 2 are adorable, I will try to get some more pics taken tomorrow and then it's time to plug in the hatcher and go thru it all again. My but we are suckers for punishment sometimes! Only 2 left in this week's hatch, and 1 is the odd looking one with the huge air space, so I am nervous.

Thanks... Congrats on your chicks, they're cute!

I would wager that we could pick out the colors but I doubt any of us are sexing them at that age.

Birdrain can sex at 24hrs, so these should be much easier since they have some age on them?? I have a barred winged Bronze male as my breeding peacock in this pen, along with 2 bronze hens and a silver pied hen,so undoubtedly the almost 100% white chick is from the pied in this group.

I think I could tell the IB from the Purple, having hatched both before.. I've never hatched a bronze though, but would love to see pics as I have 4 eggs due to hatch on the 25th that could be Bronze, Bronze BS or BS split to Bronze. It would be a good reference for me. As for sexing them, I hope you have a valid fishing license FBC!

Remember, Birdrain said he could sex peachicks at 24hrs,these are older so it should be a cake walk. Pictures forthcoming on the IB,Bronze and Purple peachicks.

Should comment that the above pictured chick had pipped internally, but due to it having it's foot over it's head it could not pip externally and had to be helped.
