2014 breeding season begins, post your results

The vet said that 3cc in a gal of water for 5 days in a row is the same as direct worming for 3 days. I think that I'll go for the 5 days!

See i free range 100's of fowl so i can not rely on water containers cause there is no way i can keep them from drinking out of the ponds plus like i said i know they got a good dose with it being eaten in their food.

I 'm still learning. I went into lockdown this morning! I raised the humidity to 60-70%. Come into agreement with me. It's in the Lords hands now. They are his creatures!

By the way I am expanding the pen. I am going from 180 sq ft to 760 sq ft. I am getting ready for next year. One of my hens just hollered like a peacock! Lol

I'm thinking of little GPS tracking devices strapped around their little necks.  Maybe shock collars, yeah, that's it, shock collars.

If you can't tell I have a love, hate relationship with my guineas, especially when they start picking on my peas and turkeys.

Welcome to the club! I have a dominate male guinea who has to give his permission to the others to eat. If you try to eat without it you get scalped including the peas. I now have 3 peas with no crest!

I'm still trying to figure out why I ever got guineas! Other than occasional comic relief they do not seem to serve any purpose here, and they are biters. I would rather catch my wildest male pea barehanded than have to grab one of those guineas. One of them was attacked by something 3 years ago and it tore all the feathers out of his back, I had to catch him to assess the damage. There were no major punctures or lacerations and I applied Triple antibiotic and let him go, but I had blood blisters on both hands as my reward for good pet stewardship. Halfway thru the wound care I wanted to twist his little pinhead off myself!

@DylansMom , how's that internal pip doing?

-Kathy

I'm gonna take another pic later and post it. I think I have 7 internal pips now and 1 external pip and the ext. is not the spalding it's a different one. They are chirping now.

We had a heck of a storm over night, no power outage thank goodness, but I had a minor flood in my barn to deal with today. I think we must have a clogged rain spout, probably a starling nested in it. I had to shovel out 2 pens worth of soaking wet wood chips and replace with dry, I'm exhausted now.
