2014 uk shows (anyone know any)

Hi were pretty new to chickens we got some last year wed really like to show oud bo and call ducks does anyone know wheres best

Welcome - where are you located?? The practical poultry magazine usually lists upcoming shows, what about your local poultry club?? Sue

In Cumbria where I am there are quite a few such as Penrith Show, Skelton Show, Hesket Newmarket Show these are just a few near where I live but it depends where you are and how far you want to travel there are also Poultry Sales in which large numbers of poultry are showed then sold and you can meat a lot of experienced poultry keepers. Carlisle have poultry sales on the following dates this year: 22nd Feb, 19th Apr, 20th Sep. Longtown auction also has poultry sales throughout the year. Hope this helps

Or thanks everyone were in manchester gona have a look for local poultry clubs (i didnt even think of that) weve already been to a couple markets chelford leek but carlisle in april sounds good. Is it a worthwhile market

Yes I enjoy going this February will be the 4th one at Carlisle I've been too and plan on selling my Muscovy ducks there. They have a website called Harrison and Hetherington and go along the top to feather, the top price at last years September sale was a pair of Buff Orps for £130!!!!!!

Wow thats amazing what a price. what muscovys do you have my brother recently bought a pair of females (there only babies 13 weeks) lavenders but there already bigger than mallards

Yes their masssive! I have the 2 mother ducks which 1 is white and the other is black and white. They hatched 10 ducklings between them in august which are: 1 lavender drake, 1 white drake, 4 black and white drakes, 4 black and white ducks and a non related drake which I hatched out of an egg somebody gave me in June.
