2022 Chick Order

I hope they come the same day. Chicks are pretty accepting of eachother the first couple weeks.

I meant space-wise. That has to be one big brooder!

Got all ready and took the toddler out to be at the feed store early to grab some blue laced Barnevelders. The shipment didn’t make it in… Hoping I don’t miss out on them! They’re only coming in one time this year and I really don’t want to place another order for shipping

Two blue laced () Barnevelders and a Welsummer have been snuck into the brooder! Can’t fool the kids They spotted them immediately lol

I am waiting on the order Saipan, Egyptian Fayoumi, Rhode Island White, Buckeye, Black Jersey Giant… but you know chicks are in the feed store… So we have been picking up additional chicks on our list… a D’Uccle from a BYC member buddy for a D’Uccle hen we have, from the feed store 2 Marans, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Black Australorp, 2 Rhode Island Red, 3 Ameraucana, and a couple more Naked Necks.

What I need is Rose comb RIR and Rose comb RIW… just not finding a local source yet.

Newest chicks… 3 days, these are Ideal Chicks

When we brought these home over a week ago… these are Belt chicks

Next to find RIR and RIW with Rosecombs…

The feed stores are so tempting Way too many nice options this year, I swear I “need” something every shipment

I peruse the hatchery websites daily, mentally adding chicks and making lists for 2023. The feed stores up north haven’t even started chick days yet. I’m gonna end up with 100.

Really struggling with living in town right now, but maybe it’s a good thing I can’t have alllllll the chickens My mom mentioned she could borrow some for grasshopper control, so that means I need more right???
