aww that’s so nice! I got two and got totally hooked on their personality and the rest is history lol. They’re so curious and unique, nosey, zero boundaries. I trained my first Owlbeard girl to climb on my hand and ride my arm around the yard… between that and the soft fluffy beards I couldn’t help it- then I needed ALL the beards View attachment 4209736

Yes! They are a rare and old Dutch breed, one of three similar heritage breeds from the Netherlands- Brabanter, Kraaikop, and Uilebaard (Owlbeard). They’re so old they’ve been featured in paintings from the 16th and 17th century. They are quite possibly the ancestors to some of today’s modern breeds

oh my gosh! she is so sweet! They must be cold hardy too with those tiny combs. I like breeds that are cold hardy, but not too much so like brahmas and cochins. I live in michigan, so it gets hot here in the summer and super cold here in the winter, so I like the breeds that are good for both climates. You live in Ohio so you probably know what I mean too lol!
