2026 Emu Hatch-Along

Ok, who's hatching emu this year!?

@Slothinc @WingItRanch @FNF @MGG @ShannonsChimkens @Pyxis @New duck mommy 2021

Tag anyone I forgot!

I am not hatching for myself, but just set 14 eggs for a local guy. Six standard local and 8 shipped with chance for all 3 colors. I told him I'd hatch them if I could keep them for a week and get all the snuggles and whistles before they start pooping the giant emu baby poops 💩 🤣

Day 50 will be March 15th! They are labeled as color groups based on where we got them from.

Green - Utah from @Slothinc
Red - California
Blue - local
White - OhioView attachment 4290765View attachment 4290766
Aww I wish!! I'll have to live vicariously this year. Cmon baby emus! Goodluck!

Thanks everyone for following the hatch! I am so excited. I don't know why hatching emu is so much fun for me, but it is. This is my 3rd year and it's so exciting and boring at the same time! Lol! The wait is sooooo long and since you can't candle like other eggs you have no clue what's going on in those giant jewel colored eggs. Until around day 30 and then you can start checking for small wiggles. Those first few wiggles bring such joy because you finally know a baby is developing in there. Over the next 20 days the wiggles get bigger and the babies will "talk" back to you with their wiggles. It's really magical. I may have just made myself sound a bit crazy 🤪. Anyway, today is the first weigh in so we'll see how each egg is doing. I'll keep you posted!

For now, here are a few pictures of some of some chicks from previous years. There is forced emu snuggles on my hubby as well🤣
