2026 Emu Hatch-Along

They won’t stop! Well one of them won’t. I keep finding her eggs. I’m so done with hatching this year lol

There are 3 hatching currently, 4 chicks in the nursery box, 7 chicks in the big brooder. Then 2 more hatching in two days 17+ to go.

Weekend at Bernie’s with this one…

This one hatched with crust in her eyes. So I clean them out and I think she likes it

Is it normal for my chicks to be rolling over? I would think it's a neurological problem, but they both do it.

Emu's roll around and hop up and run the zoomies as normal play. Are they up and alert, active and eating? Or are they lethargic and unable to stand and walk properly?

No they are very active. It's weird, they start running in circles, crash into a wall, and then start rolling over like dogs.

100% normal. Baby emu are hysterical. You can pull up videos online and you'll see the same thing that your babies are doing and know that it's just them being silly and playful.

Caught a little one hatching last night. Gave it a little helping hand. Was feeling generous. She could have made her way out on her own just fine.
