21 Week old Hen having trouble standing/walking

Necked Betty is still the same. Still walking about 5-8 steps and then sits down. Still laying an egg every other day. I bought a smaller box and made a sling that covered the entire box, but she still didn't like it and got out every time. Her feet do seem to be clinging onto stuff..I've attached a pic with her on a water bowl. She loves the liver..and the other girls are quite jealous. I add the vitamin E, calcium and selenium onto it every 2nd day. I keep her inside at night as I think she is spoiled to the AC.

I forgot to add the picture. However some better news. She has started to stand while eating or pecking at the ground for a few seconds anyways..I did see her take about a 20 step jolt 2 days ago. She now waits to lay her egg until I get home from work, as I open the back door she runs in to kitchen..waits to be picked up to put her in the trough and lays within a couple of minutes..spoiled for sure.

No news..just wanted to keep this thread alive in case someone knows what could be wrong with her. She still walks some..but only a matter of steps and then sits back down. She is still laying me eggs and is quite spoiled wanting to come into the house to do so. 3 of the other hens want to kill her I'm sure of it..although the alpha hen doesn't attack her at all. Notice in the picture that her right toes are lifted up like a tent..and her left foot is normal. Could this be a joint or tendon issue maybe?

oh another question..wondering since she is by herself during the day in a 2' tall pen 9' x 12' with protection areas and her nesting box, dust bath area..would it be bad to get her a playmate? she wants so bad to be with her flock but they pick on her and she can't get away fast enough..she just tucks her head and hopes they stop pecking her head and comb..

I would try another hen with her-- maybe give several a tryout and try to find a meeker girl. It could be that she has some type of leg bone deformity by her feet kind of turning inward, but it could still be Mareks or neither. I would continue vitamins or at least riboflavin in B complex tablets. Leg bone deformities such as varus valgus deformity can look a little like this, and may put pressure on the hock tendons where they sometimes can rupture with growing causing lameness. You are very kind to try and help her live a good life.

Thank you. She is so sweet..I think i will try and find her another teenage chick that will only be with her so that it is raised with her..
Yep I am keeping with the vitamins about twice a week in some liver or yogurt..Thank you again.

Can I also insert the Monistat suppository into the vent for vent gleet, or is that dangerous for them?

@Enid Stowers Typically it is spread as an ointment on the vent topically using either clotrimazole or miconasole (Monostat).

I suppose you could put a suppository inside the vent, but I'm not sure it'd stay, and I'm not sure how much should be used. If you feel it is bad enough, you can try maybe half a suppository daily.

I've read on other boards poultry owners using suppository....but I've not personally tried it. I've only used topical spray or cream, but I only had mild cases.
