Hi All! I am happy to join this community and thank you all for the info over the last 2 years that I have been raising my silkies! I am hatching eggs for the 2nd time. I let my silkie mamas just sit on their eggs. The 1st time was so simple (in the spring with no temperature issues and animal invasions). Since temps were around 104, I brought in 2 eggs at day 20 (all that remained after snake invasion:(. 1 hatched just fine. The other was peeping, moving and pecking (no pipping though). For what ever reason, mama hen didn't get it tucked under her last night and it was noticeably cold in the morning. OF course I stuck it under her immediately but later noticed there was no more peeping or tapping sounds so I candled it. I can see that it has definitely entered the air space of the egg and *might* detect slight movement, but not sure. Is there anything I can do right now? How long can it live in the air sack without having pipped? Thanks!!
