22% feed

I use 22% gamebird crumbles for my Faverolles. If I can't get to my usual feed store for that then I use 20% flock raiser. They do better on higher protein feed.

I haven't seen 22% layer around here. If you can't find it anywhere else you may want to use something like a meat bird or gamebird feed with similar protein content and just add oyster shell.

Just going to plug here, but if you have an Ace Hardware nearby they can special order you some from Kalmbach feeds through the Princeton RSC, they have several higher protein feeds like my personal favorite 22% chick starter that's non GMO.
What is the price for 50lbs?

I tried to find the middle Tennessee thread but couldn't find it :(

I am in Clarksville, TN. My feed store is going out of business and it is the only place I have found to carry 22% protein chicken layer pellets. Rural King and TSC only carry 16%. I am looking for someone here or in the Nashville area. Help? No I am not looking for less than 22%.

Have you tried callin luttrel feeds in pembroke? Or hubbard feed in hoptown?

You'll probably have to go with an all flock feed and supply oyster shell on the side. Nature Wise meat bird feed at TSC is 22% protein for example. It's just lower in calcium needing oyster shell provided on the side.

I'm actually amazed you found a layer feed with that high of protein content. Would you mind telling us the name brand of it?

I will look and see if we still have the sack but I am doubtful. I was getting that from a feed company here in Clarksville but they just went out of business. I think I was paying around $12 for 50lbs.

I just got my feed yesterday from TSC and the highest I found was 16%, I was pretty disappointed in th their selection and lack of knowledge.

I do not believe there is a "test" an employee at a feed store needs to pass in order to get the job.

I get mine at the Lewisburg Farm Center, they carry a 22% pellet. I know that's on the other side of Nashville for you but if all else fails...

Thank you I will call tomorrow. My husband works in Nashville so he can go by and get it for me
