23 DAYS AND NO PEEPING What do you Think??

I have had silkies in the incubator since August 4. 20 eggs that I got off ebay. I have no peeping no movement nor and chirping. I candled them and there was something in all. How long should I wait. Incubator flux from 99.5 to 101 and were in a egg turner till the 18th day. Dont think I could have done anything more. Any clues? Or should I just wait

I just hatched my first bunch under a mother hen. (I guess its likely different with an incubator)
The Eggs were collected from a variety of hens over 2 days and placed under the broody hen. (11 eggs)
3 eggs were kicked out of the nest the first week leaving me with 8.
On Monday the first 3 eggs hatched, it had been 21 days.
Tuesday 1 hatched. 22 days
Wednesday 1 hatched. 23 days
And today- Thursday 2 more hatched. 24 days
One egg is left and I'll give it another day or 2.
So I guess I'd suggest giving them a smidge more time, especially if the are incubated and not causing you too much trouble.

Do you have 2 thermometers in the incubator or the one that came with it?

I would keep them in the bator a little longer, just as long as they dont start smelling bad.

I like doing the float test to end my agony!!!!


Get a bowl of water, deep enough for the egg to float in. Say 4-5"
The water must be 99-100, check egg for any peeps if none, carfully, put the egg in the water.
If it stops moving it is dead, if it sinks, it never developed.
If it starts rocking back and forth, the heart is beating, put it back in the bator and give it another day.
You must give the egg a few seconds to do its thing from putting it in the water.

Oh the water thing make me nervous but I am up for any thing. As for the term I have a digit one, not the one that came with the incubator. Day 24 Still nothing.

Just cracked them open after doing the water rest. Got scammed I guess. Kentucky Silkies Dont ever Buy!!! All yolk I guess I sould have eaten them!!!!
