We have shipped over 500 eggs this year alone...from New York to Alaska, Texas to Canada...they have gone across the country and beyond

My Lavender Stock originated from John Blehm, with other blood from: Cree, Whitmore, and Pips&Peeps being breed in to improve size.

I cull heavily to ensure only the best genes!!! I have hatched out over 200 lav chicks this year, along with splits to improve size. THESE ARE PURE 100% lav chicks you will hatch! No feathered shanks, straight combs, or any other odd traits. These are the best of the best!

You know the risks you take when buying shipped eggs. Due to variations in incubators, hatching practices, the Post Office, and other variables I cannot guarantee the hatch rate. All eggs will be clean, unwashed, and fertile!
Hatch rate on the farm has been about 95%

Any questions, PLEASE feel free to ask!

Thanks and GOOD LUCK!!

**EDITED to add**
Insurance is optional at $5. USPS PRIORITY 2-3 DAY SHIPPING IS USED!
Eggs will be packed and at PO for shipping before 2pm tomorrow, so you should get them on Friday or saturday

I am also taking orders for chicks, if interested please PM me.

Can you explain this to me? This is a very new hobby for me, so I'm still learning. Does this mean that you toss eggs that don't have a favorable size/appearance, or do you actually cull chicks because they don't meet your standards? I'm just trying to understand. Thank you!

Thank you.

so far this year i have hatched around 200 chicks, of which 10or 11 are banded as keepers. I cull birds that do NOT meet the standard, or ill sell them as yard ornaments or egg layers. I check everything from eye color, ear lobes, proper combs, coloring, feathering, and the list goes on.
After all that is done and i get the best that meet standard i check them for egg color. from last year i only kept 7 hens and 2 roos, of which 2 lay a greenish egg rather than blue.

I hope this helps

You have absolutely beautiful birds, and if I didn't already have eggies in the incubator, I would be sorely sorely tempted.

I did have one question since you are answering questions for newbies... what is the typical age that one culls birds when breeding for quality? (i.e., in terms of being able to assess their characteristics enough to give a thumbs up or thumbs down).

(Thanks so much for those with patience for newbies... this week is my one year annivesary of chicken-keeping.)

I allow them to fully feather out before i start culling. Im sure some folks start sooner

I know pictures can be inaccurate. Do you feel your birds eye color is displayed accurately in your pictures?
