25 degrees...

In my opinion? Not a chance. Ice usually takes at least a few days to freeze enough for anything that heavy to walk on, especially in temps that high. As long as the temp raises above freezing the next day, you should be fine.

also does anyone else have this problem... when i got my duckling (the one i didn’t keep just fostered him) he got along great with my cat! they would sleep together, the cat would let the duck eat his food, and let the duckling do whatever around him. then once the duck got older the cat started hating him and would run from him (never attack and at this point the duckling was outside full time) and the duck started the bite the cat. this has happened with every young duckling we’ve had and i’m wondering why they start hating each other as they grow (is it because they spend less time together? also i’d like to point out he got to spend time with the cat because at that point our ducks were to big for him to be introduced to them and we couldn’t get him any duck friends. he is now grown up and living a good life but i’m wondering why while he was here that happened

I raised a Muscovy drake inside after his mama rejected him and he was around my dogs all the time. I would never have left him alone with them though. He never bit them but my females have nipped at the dogs as the dogs were walking by. I think that is what starts the problem the duck nips and the cat or dog doesn't like it.
My gander use to nip my med size dog in the butt when she'd walk by till one day Sam nipped her and she turned around and grabbed him by the neck. Thankfully she didn't bite down but it was a wakeup call for me to train the geese to give the dogs their space. Bullying was not going to happen. So moral of the story ducks nip it's a natural thing for them to do they do it to each other and other animals as well. Other animals see it as aggression and want to retaliate. Some animals are pretty laid back, but it always worries me when someone mentions their duck nipping their dog because I have seen how that can turn into something bad. Cats I haven't had as much experience with around my birds since I haven't had a cat for years.
