We got several baby chicks back in October, all sexed female.

By 18 weeks we were certain that they were all pullets and ended up giving a few to a friend since we had so many.

We had 2 brown leghorns and kept one and gave one away.

This week they are 25 weeks and ours started laying, but the one we gave to our friends started crowing. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Our friends are brand new to chickens so they were convinced that it meant it was a rooster, But I am fairly confident that she is still a she.

It's definitely a girl by its colouring. Some pullets can crow - it's hormonal. It should stop when she starts to lay. I had an Orpington who did that.
x2. It's a girl and some just crow because, as @JaeG said, it's hormonal and will stop when she starts to lay.

I have a older bantam hen that lays AND crows. I think because my silky rooster rarely crows she's taken over as the protector. Its completely possible she's a crower and a pullet.
