Maybe it's not a she? I can't see the saddle feathers very well.25 week brown leghorn pullet started crowing. She is not yet laying, and our friends we gave her to are concerned.
Nor can I. The comb, wattles and cackle feathers tell me "cockerel" tho. Plus the long tail.I can't see the saddle feathers very well.
X2. Seems like you don't have a pullet, @RanchRichey .Nor can I. The comb, wattles and cackle feathers tell me "cockerel" tho. Plus the long tail.
Please elaborate.Brown leghorn hens and roosters have completely different coloring. This leghorn has hen coloring
Leghorn chickens naturally have the big combs and pointy tails. Do you have any roosters? Hens will crow if there is no roosters in the flock or if there’s not enough roosters. We have a hen the would crow a lot!! I have a video of her doing it lol.25 week brown leghorn pullet started crowing. She is not yet laying, and our friends we gave her to are concerned.
Roosters have black breasts and bright red-gold hackles and saddles. Hens are brown with salmon breasts. Hens will never get a black breast and roosters will never get a salmon breast. Please elaborate.
