I have several chicks that hatched 26 days ago with combs growing in. They are BYM. Is this average for them?

Yes and no. I'm just trying to get an idea how many I might need homes for. Any others and it wouldn't matter. These ones are from .y first hatch an I've grown attached.Chicks of any age have a comb. By 4 weeks some can be quite large. Are you asking this because you are trying to tell gender? In a couple weeks the males combs will become more red than the females.
Easy to do with helpless balls of fluff. I have five that are 4 weeks old that I hatched for the first time. I can't seem to find the heart to put them outside, lol. I keep blaming it on the weather, but really they're just too damn cute.Yes and no. I'm just trying to get an idea how many I might need homes for. Any others and it wouldn't matter. That parts not a problem for me. I have 5 26 day old chicks and 10 6 week old pullets in a large playpen. Then we just hatched 2 littles today. I'm not sure if the second one will survive.Easy to do with helpless balls of fluff. I have five that are 4 weeks old that I hatched for the first time. Sorry to hear about the one struggling, hope it works out. I had two not make it after hatching and it was tough. Best wishes. That parts not a problem for me. You are correct with those 3.In the bottom picture, you can see the 2 on the left bottom that have much larger combs than others, well excluding the BR looking one, which is a cockerel (BR hen, solid roo). They are 26 days also in this pic. They have had larger combs since 1 week old. It made me think cockerel. I'll take better pictures of them with different views in another month to ask gender. I posted as the combs are as large as Rocky.

Thank you. Typically I wouldn't ask gender at this age. I wanted to show that it is normal for some to have a large comb at a young age. I've thought cockerels, since week 1. There is another the same. There are 15 chicks and I'm hoping for 7+ pullets. You are correct with those 3.
