27 weeks and our Barred Rock hasn't started laying. Is this normal?

We have four chickens in two age groups. The first pair started laying at 19.5 (Arucana) and 20.5 (Rhode Island Red) weeks. Of the second pair, the Buff Orpington started laying at 23.5 weeks. The three have been laying regularly (~5-6 eggs/week). Our Barred Rock, however is 27 weeks today and isn't even doing the "crouch" when we try to pet her.

Is this really late? Is it because the days are shortening? Her comb and waddles are pretty bright red, though they're smaller than the other girls. She's also particularly large. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Hillary

I don't think its that unusual. Sometimes even though they might be getting close to laying eggs, the length of day tells them to wait. I wouldn't worry about it.

Good luck!
