Is this your first hatch? (: I had my first (chicken hatch) about 12 weeks ago! They started coming 4 days early!! And they weren't in lock down!! lol all of them are alive though! (:

this is the first time hatching duckies!!
i tryed chickens i got to excited when they didnt come 21st day and "helped" them all out
sad.png
killed most of them and had 5 out of 7 turn out to be roosters

but this was before i had BYC to help me. i had not idea what i was doing all i knew was they can die in the shell if they dont hatch on thier own..

I think it's because they aren't really duck-ducks....that's my guess, because mixes, between scovy & regular ducks are infertile, mules.

DO NOT DO THAT TO THOSE DUCK EGGS!!!!! leave them alone and let mother nature takes it course-please...even if they dont hatch on day 28! Sometimes they are just late and not ready...go for a walk-clean your house...scrub your bathroom floor with a toothbrush for 3 days straight if thats what it takes! You'll be a much happier mommy with live duck babies than diving in them and killing them accidently:( Been there and done that a along time ago....Sorry about your chickie eggs:(

I'm sorry to hear that! ): Good luck with this hatch, though!! (:

This depends on several variables such as your humidity and temp stability. This is only a guide. I personally don't incubate at as high a humidity as the chart recommends. Temperature is to be 99.5 forced-air, or 101.5 in still air measured at the top of the eggs.
