28th day and no sign of pipping :(

Yes, as long as there is no external pip. The external pip is the initial crack in the shell that will let air into the egg for the first time. Don't open once that happens; until then, it's safe to candle and look for internal pips. :)

chirping means it has pipped internally :)

after internal pip happens, you should see an external pip in 12-24 hours, then it will rest for up to 24 hours (no activity).

then it should begin zipping the shell, i have seen that take from 1 to 12 hours!

OMFG! (Please excuse my language!) I just candled one of the eggs and it was complete darkness at first but after I rotated it a little, I saw an inclined white spot at the end and there is definitely something in there! I guess they're just not yet ready to come out! I'll keep updating! Thank you for all your help through this first incubation, it really means a lot. Well, I guess that's all for now!

Mine took several days to hatch, check your humidity, mine was to low and I had to self hatch five of them, I now have four healthy little ducklings in my backyard. Unfortunately one didn't make it. If after they pip (make a hole) its been 36-48 hours and they have made little/no progress gently touch the membrane, if its drying up or is hard check this link on how to hatch them your self, you may have to to save them

Check the last page for info on how to help with the membrane
