2day old chicks now what

Help my 15 yr old son wanted to hatch chicks so he let 3 chickens sit and have 3 babies well now what? have them in the house warm and eating. how long before I can put these back in with other hens? i couldnt leave them with others in fear something would get them. They seem healthy and are eating and drinking. Just need to know time frame when safe to put them back out side with others. He is a proud daddy!!!!

if u are letting them grow up separate than it will be about 2 months at least before they will be big enough to go with the rest. but even then they might not be excepted by the others at first. There are ways to introduce them though so that there will not be too much trouble

2 months!!!! Here goes my 2 bathtub again. We raised the first ones we got year ago spring in the bathtub for 6 weeks and then they had to go couldn't' handle smell any longer.

Ok will have to figure out something as they get older. I guess there is worse things a 15 year old could want. Watch all 3 will be roosters

Next time, just let the hens raise them.

well I don't think there will be a next time. My boxes are high and I was afraid that the other hens would pick at them if the fell. My rooster is very mean( gonna find a new home soon) and didn't know how that would go either. I guess I leaned a lesson from all this. Dont let hens set on there eggs to hatch.

When they get older we will make a area for them in with others and see how that goes.
