2nd brood

I have a Cinnamon Queen who went broody. She sat on her 1 egg and it hatched at 21 days. Unfortunately the chick died on day 6. My hen went normal for a week but now is going broody again. She hasn't laid any eggs since she went broody the first time and now she's sitting on a fake egg. I have other eggs she can sit on but my question is, is it safe for her the go through another brood cycle so soon? Should I try to break this brood cycle?.

If she took a week off, that's a bit of a short break. Even my silkies who are broody often take 3-4 weeks off normally. I assume she gets off every day or few days to eat and drink?

If she's your only possibility to hatch eggs, and you want her to, you could let her but I'd come by with some mash and water every few days to be sure she's keeping up her strength.
