2nd hen with leg paralysis. Help please.

It’s now 10pm here ....and hen is looking much brighter. She is eating and drinking. She now has her legs underneath her...and feet are uncurled. This is exactly the same that happened with the other hen....who is back outside running around again.
It’s been fantastic having your advice...and support Thankyou.
Edited to say she just stood up and poo’d...a spurt of liquid that stinks like nothing on earth....🤢🤢😱🥵

Ive had turkeys with botulism and i swear it presented as mareks. Had me stumped for the longest time.
Thankyou for your reply.
How did you find out it was Botulsim....? Do you know where it came from.... And how did you treat it?? Did they all get it?
Were they like my hens....looking like they were dying...then recovery....then again about a month later?

Never was officially diagnosed.
An old turkey farmer came and took a look, saw all the symptoms and knew right away. Botulism. I looked it up and sure enough, thats what it was. I lost a few to the illness. But that was turkeys not chickens.

He explained that the very wet spring, free ranging like they were, (in the woods and fields and around the coops) they picked it up.

Turkeys can be sensitive in that type of environment. I changed the way i raised them and never had a problem again.

Now chickens, i dont know. Never had a problem in all these years. Someone else on this thread suggested botulism and it is something to consider or at least rule out.

If she's doing this and recovering quickly - I would watch to see if she's getting enough to eat/drink.
Would it be fair to say you see fairly quick improvement when she is given supportive/one on one care and access to food/water? Are you giving anything special/different when you bring them inside?

They have access to layers pellets and water 24/7 and they are free range. When they come in I give them some scrambled egg to get them to start to eat ....then back onto their usual food.
