Advice again Please!!!!
I feel silly asking this question about my duck or ducks nesting, I'm just confused :idunno. Okay, I posted a question the other day about my 1 female Rouen nesting with 15 eggs in it, I was excited hoping she would finally go brood soon, ( she hasn't, yet ) yesterday I looked & I saw 1 eggs out of the nest ( which I thought she had rolled it out ) but this morning I let them out & looked at the nest & saw this???!!! Now there are 2 nest with a total of 21 eggs in both what is going on??? Did another one of my females ( I have 3 females & 1 male ) decide to make a nest beside her's or did she give up on the 1st nest??? Will they go broody together, should I remove them, can I candle them??? So, many questions, so many eggs & No ducklings, yet!!!! :barnie:he

Have any of the females been sitting on the eggs consistently? If no one has been sitting, they won't be developing and you won't see anything if you candle them.

If you ever get more than one new egg in a day then you've got more than one layer, and sharing a nest area is not uncommon.

Just because a duck is laying doesn't mean she will ever go broody.

How many eggs are you hoping to hatch? Remove any extras from the nests. I'd keep the newer eggs probably and remove some of the older ones. The newer ones may be more viable.

There are a lot of eggs. They may not all be from the same layer. Maybe give it another week and see if one of the girls starts sitting? If not, then remove them all. Are any of your girls acting like they might go broody? Aside from being on the nest a lot, I find when my ducks are thinking of going broody they get much more vocal and almost seem angry and will guard their nests. They will honk at me and/or run at me any time I get close to their nesting area.

Hello..Looks like two Hens are laying and not all Hens ever go Broody. Generally a setting Hen will actually make a real nest and cover her eggs up each time she leaves the nest. How old are your Hens? Not that age is a real factor though.

They are 1yr old, & yes, 1 female has been being more vocal lately she hasn't been aggressive but when she out in the yard with the other ducks she will just stand there & quack
