Last year I started with 6 red stars from TSC...did great, about 30 dozen eggs by year end. put 6 decent birds in the freezer.
This year I decided to get a few breeds and keep them. So I got 6 cuckoo marans, 3 easter eggers, 5 comets, and 4 tetra tints. All supposedly pullets...
Built a nice coop, and have had great success so far.
the marans are still too little for the pen/coop, but the others are starting to show nice development. Nervous that one or two may be roosters, but still unsure.
Anyway, been viewing here a lot....and as soon as I figure out how to post pics I will!
