Just got my spring batch of layers and meaties. One of the Cornish X birds is having a heck of a time with its legs. Thinner, and being (obviously) trampled by the other gang I want to make it more comfortable no matter what the decision is. I am raising the layers & Meaties together in a brooder til this weekend. I have a new coop to grow out the Cornish for a few more weeks until finished, but I don't think the damaged bird will survive with the meat birds.... I have taped as best I could the legs to try to help him/her prop itself up, but it doesn't look too promising due to the balancing act it needs to do. Eats and drinks ok if I hand feed, but that is not an option for too much longer. Any thoughts?
