3-27-10 set baregretchen's test Polish eggs, anyone else

I recieved my 8 eggs yesterday, let them sit for the day and I have now official set them this AM 4:30.

This is the first time that I've put a "X" and an "O" on the eggs for turning. I was just placing them in egg cartons and tilting my whole bator by placing an egg carton under one side then the other.
i'm at 100 degrees, give or take a tenth and humidity is 51%.
hatch date is April 17th, i think.... if I don't count today, right?

Anyone else have Gretchen's tester eggs and how is it going...? I would love to know how their hatch is progressing. Or finished?

My thoughts already.. just by checking all of the eggs.

one is pourous- from what I've read, this isn't good.
one is very tiny....?
one is very large....LOL
and one is pointy on both ends....roo? Read that somewhere too.

the rest look like regular eggs (is there such a thing?) Well, they are the same size as my banty eggs (silkies&cochins)

oh and i did NOT candle anything yet. wanted to give them a running start.

Day 3...

I feel like mamma chick, turning these eggs by hand. not very danty at it either. They won't just roll only half way. i'll get better at it...

I see that some eggs white and some are creamish... What does this mean, dfferent colors?

Anyone else hatching her eggs?

I just hatched some Polish bantam eggs, but not from the same supplier. Very cute now they have fluffed up. I now have silkies and pekins starting in the incubator.

I know what you mean about eggs refusing to roll just half way! I have water bottles in the incubator to help keep the temperature more even, and I roll the first few eggs against the bottles, and the next ones against those ones, but they still do have a mind of their own, don't they?

awww. silkies... I've got 2 from my last hatch.... very cute...

never thought of putting something in there to roll against....hmmm.
do you have pics to show, would love to see them.

Well ill be setting eggs in a few days i have eggs pipping and zipping now,and some that go on lockdown today..So once the old tenants move out and i clean it up ill be incubating some red sussex eggs....
