I have a chick that is approximately 7-8 weeks old now. I had a bout of coccidia run through that I’ve been struggling to get rid of because it will not stop raining here. I’ve had the flock on Corrid and everyone is doing much better except this little one.

It is still alive. It cannot stand, I’ve been syringe feeding it egg yolk mixed with corrid water. It’s bowels have started back up again and I don’t feel like this looks like coccidia poop.

Could this be something else? Do I need to stop corrid water and give it vitamins and electrolytes? It’s fighting so hard and I don’t want to give up on it.

It sounds like at this point you should stop the corrid water and start some vitamin supplements because if you use corrid water for too long it can lead to vitimin deficiency. The way the water works is blocking the B1 vitamins that the disease works with you can give them supplements like save-a-chick or just a quarter of a human b-complex tablet crushed in an egg hold of dissolved Ina little water.

You could consider giving the chick apple juice if you don't have any chick electrolytes and if you don't have apple juice you can chop up a couple apples add a little water and stick into the microwave.

There maybe something internally wrong with it. You may want to consider putting it down, once a bird lays down and closes its eyes, it's near the end. I'm sorry
I’ve definitely considered that. It peeps and is taking the syringe. It does open its eyes when I pick it up now from time to time. I’ll give it a shot with getting some vitamins and electrolytes in it and if it doesn’t work we will let it go.

You could try Vibactra Plus. It’s an herbal tincture product by Amber Naturalz. We’ve used it for our laying hens. It’s available on Amazon with free 2 day shipping or you can call or order directly from their website and request free two day shipping over the phone.
