Yesterday morning when I opened the girls run for the day I noticed one of my girls was staggering around, falling over. I picked her up and inspected her. The only thing different was her crop was squishy and kind of hanging down. It had a golf ball maybe a bit bigger size ball still in crop. I thought sour crop. I massaged it. I bathed her bottom just because I wanted her to feel better. She had no poo hanging or clogging her vent. Anyway I isolated her and put vetrx in her water and gave her grit only. She did not like the isolation. I massaged her crop throughout the day. I did not let her get up on the roost for the night. She was still isolated. This AM. She's still wobbly and falling but her crop is smaller. She's eating and in the run with my other girls. No one is picking on her. She doesn't have a smell? Her poop is normal color but a little runnier than normal. Do I keep doing what I'm doing? I'm really not sure it's a sour crop but I'm treating as it is. Also they always have acv in water. Does anyone give coconut oil for them to peck and eat?
Thanks for any insight

When was her last egg?

I'd leave her with her flock and just pull her aside for treatment unless she gets picked on.

To treat Sour Crop you can use an anti-fungal/yeast medication. Miconazole, Clotrimazole and Nystatin are commonly used. You can also give coconut oil in addition to the yeast medication if you wish. I just put the coconut oil in the freezer for a few minutes to harden it, then give the hen a few chunks to eat (about 1tsp).

Thank you. She definitely doesn't have a impacted crop. I started the coconut yesterday. She INSISTED on being with her flock. She still runs with them but obviously staggering. I'm massaging it and it did go down but it's still dangly and squishy. I isolate her at night. She's not stable enough for the roost. No one picks on her at all. She still gets in there with them and handles herself like a boss.
