3 breeds of hens

:everyone says i am crazy , i have 3 different breeds of hens with roos for each breed and have them seperated to keep the line of breeds pure is this right or set them all together

Its going to depend on what you want to do. You can have them all together, then when you want to breed only pure breeds, separate them into their breeding pens. You must collect any eggs for at least 2-3 weeks; do not incubate these eggs they may be mutt eggs. The hens if bred by another rooster can hold sperm for I think at least 20 or 30 days. After the 2-3 weeks you can start to save your pure eggs for incubation. You just have to see what works best for you and your chickens.
