They are happy now. I don't want to overcrowd them. I have another two button quails living indoors. I plan on building another one and put the indoor quails there.

So parakeets can be housed with quail? Button ? Coturnix? I have seen finches do fine... wasn’t sure about any others ‍♀️

I have only 1 parakeet there and she often go hanging out with the quails (as there is no other parakeet for her to hang out). Quails are not as pleasant when she approaches them and often run away, but they do get along and won't harm each other. To quails my parakeet is a bit annoying. In the morning she chased them around and I call it "morning exercise time".

Yeah, buttons are ground dwellers and good for cleaning up avairys, they can peacefully live amongst things like parakeets and finches, etc.

I kept buttons in my large flights with finches and had to remove them. They were attacking the finches when they landed on the floor. Additionally the hen went broody and the male kept killing/eating all their chicks.
