3 Cornish coss injured... just let them be?

Something tried to get my cornish cross. Whatever it was failed but scratched/clawed 3 of them decently they live in a chicken tractor in the pasture. I noticed one of the smaller of the pullets befor going to work yesterday when I went out for morning chores. I thought the others were pecking her until I noticed a bigger pullet with a decent lacerations on the colarbone area. Not sure what it would be called on a chicken. They all seem to be okay both are moving around and doing chicken things. However I noticed the cockerels leg yesterday. He's walking okay but it looks like a fairly deep cut right above the feathered area on his leg. Not sure what to do for chicken fist aid. Nobody seems to be getting picked on for the injured. I check them 3 times a day.

You are going to want to do basic wound care just like you would do for yourself or another animal. Clean, mild soap and water wash and general check of the wounds for depth and deep injury.

Chickens will pick and peck at anything red, blood included so you will want to treat the wounds with triple antibiotic ointment (no pain killer type) and then spray with wound coat so the other birds won't be tempted to make matters worse.

I'm concerned that you had a raccoon or possum try to reach through chicken wire to snare or grab your birds. Raccoons will drag a bird's head through the wire and decapitate them faster than you can say RACCOON! If you have the birds in a pen in a pasture you need to abandon the chicken wire if you are using it and use hardware cloth or you are going to wind up loosing birds. Lots of birds because whatever attacked your flock will be back to try for a free chicken dinner again now that it knows where the buffet table is.

In the mean time you are going to want to prevent infections in the birds that are injured.

I agree on the basic first aid. Even though you're going to eat them, no need to let the get worse. Good luck!
