3 day old chick and poult with closed eye

I got a delivery of chicks and poults today. Out of 13 chicks 4 were dead and another has a closed eye. They had loose green droppings which seems to have diminished.
Of 5 poults I has a closed eye. The hatchery told me it was coccidiosis but I conferred with a large chicken farm owner here, and he told me it's stress from the heat and being shipped. I forgot to ask about the closed eyes. Can anyone help with that? I'm not putting them with my other birds until it's all cleared up.

Its good to keep them separate for a few weeks until you are sure they are healthy.

Keep them warm (but not hot) and with plenty of nutritious food and water. Make sure they are kept clean and watch for any symptoms of sleeping standing up, listlessness, lethargy, lack of appetite, head pulled against shoulders, standing up tall with wings drooping, breathing with a rattle, or continuing green droppings.

The closed eye could be due to an infection or injury. Is it runny or swollen?
You could try putting some ointment in it to see if that helps. There are some diseases that lead to eye problems, so it may be wise to separate any chickens with symptoms. However, this can be stressful on them, and stress can lead to trouble healing. Try to keep them calm.

Both of the birds with the closed eyes have since died. The chicks appear to have recovered. The turkeys have very watery droppings (green) but otherwise appear healthy. They're separated and have electrolytes and probiotics and I'm feeding game starter. I don't know what to do to stop the diarrhea!

I contacted a couple of local men who raise chickens by the thousands. Both told me that the heat and stress of shipping caused them to be unable to absorb the yolk and that there was a good chance they couldn't be saved. One gave a home remedy ha said may help. Buttermilk with a little corn bread! He said remove their water and not to make a mash of it, and not to let them eat too much of it. I noticed people were recommending live culture yogurt. I'll try these remedies and then update.

The buttermilk and corn bread helped. It didn't make a difference removing the water. The cleaned the bowl like a cat. I mean CLEAN! I'm treating for coccidiosis now but they are doing much better.

For further reference with eye problems, a few moths ago I got chicks from wilco, I noticed that they put the silkies in with Egyptian fayomies. One little white Wilkie was being pecked repeatably in the eye, it was hopelessly swollen closed and oozing something nasty, so I took the chick home with me, what I did was put warm water over the eye with a paper towel ( make sure towel fibers don't get caught in the eyes) and cleared the gunk out, still swollen. For a week, every day I cleared the eye of gunk and now my white silkie baby is a growing sweet rooster!!! So with eye problems just using water to rinse it out is better than nothing, if this happens to a chick don't stress it out too much. Hope this helps in the future. Good Luck

The poult and chick were pretty far gone when I got them. New subject but related (same only different). After I gave them the buttermilk concoction, they pooped what looked like worms, the red worms that you fish with only they were pink. There was no substance to them in other words they came apart when touched (with a toothpick) LOL. Are these roundworms? If so they came from the hatchery like this. Do they have them that early? I'm treating for coccidiosis now, trying to cover all bases.
