3 day old chick. BLIND???

I also have a blind chick, If yours is weak get some poly vi sol (no iron) into him, I made a chick starter soup so I knew he would get both nutrition and water. He now has a small flat rock that is placed in front of his water, when ever he stands on the rock he puts his head down looking for the water. I keep him in the the "just hatched" chicks. Good luck with yours, hope you don't have to cull him :(

I got a momma and her 9 chicks yesterday and I noticed one chick is way smaller than the others. They're about 4 days old according to the lady I got them from. They are in a cage in my house with their momma to keep them warm. The little one gets tramped on and knocked over by the mom and all the other chicks and isn't eating or drinking. I took it out and got it to drink a little but still not eat and then it starting cheeping and momma started getting angry. So I put it back. I'm sure it will not survive much longer though as it is very weak and keeps getting trampled. I don't have poly vi sol and won't even be able to go anywhere to get some until tomorrow. I hope it can hang on a lil longer.

Hi, I searched a thread for blind chicks. I just realized one of mine is. All of the things you described in your post goes for my baby too. How is your chicken doing now?

This has been a great find for me, I am experiencing a very similar problem. 6 chicks all fine , last to hatch behaving as described . Stumbling, doesn’t run under the heat when I put him back and I’ve been cleaning his eyes everyday and they seem to close back up, very loud chirping. I think I spotted him eating a bit of food but not drinking. He’s on day four today, so I suppose the next days will tell whether he’s going to make it ?

Great advice! I have noticed he listens for EVERYTHING! Even when I come in and talk he perks up!

Okay so my plan is to put him in smaller confines! Less room to get lost and loose his barings! Give him something easy to eat and drink out of! continue to assist feeding until he gets the hang of life!

I think I might call him 'Bumper' or 'Bink'!! Right now its just been Little Buddy! Oh and HE because guilty until proven innocent! It would be great if it ended up a little pullet though!
Hi! I have a chick hatched yesterday that is acting very much like this one. How did yours turn out?

Also he had major issues with Spraddle leg and crooked toes but it is correcting and he is now able to stand but he loves to be supported by something like bu jis back touching something or a chick he is much better by day 3 but I did help with bandage. He/she is a fighter ❤️

Salve (Latin for hello) and :welcome! This is an old thread so you might have a better chance of getting a response if you start a new thread, possibly in the Emergency/Injury/Disease forum. I hope your little chick survives!
