3 dozen button eggs, Temp ? added 9:15 2/7

Whelp, I bought the bator off of Sam today, and just had to get button eggs, because, well, you can't get a bator and not use it as soon as it's stable, and I don't have anybody laying right now. Anyways, I asked the button breeder to hold two dozen eggs for me, so he started collecting. He got a dozen one day, a dozen the next day, and then today when we went to get the eggs, they gave him 11 eggs. He said that he had 150 or so in the bator, off the turner, so he didn't really want to set anything else yet, and he couldn't sell 11 eggs, so, we got 11 extras! So, that's 35 eggs for $12. Not too bad.

Ohh, and, I fell in love with his goat. He had an 8 week old pygmy goat, and she was eating my zippers on my coat, nibbling on my fingers, and she was even letting our one year old touch her. I told hubby that we had to have one, lol. He didn't go for it, even though the guy told him that this girl was paper trained (so it can be done), and he often sells them for $100 per female and $50 for male, and sells them dehorned. I'm telling you, darn it, I want one! But, common sense tells me that I don't need one, but actually have to DOWNSIZE on some of the animals. *Sigh*

Anyways, the button eggs will be set sometime tomorrow. Hopefully they hatch! Ohh, and, not only did I get to meet Sam's coturnix babies, but I got to meet the other guy's adult jumbo browns! I knew he had coturnix, but I thought his were regulars. I'm absolutely smitten with coturnix now! Sam was picking around the babies and they didn't care one bit. The other guy was walking in the stall and had to shuffle so that he didn't step on them because, again, they were just so laid back that they didn't care that someone was walking by them. Now, buttons, on the other hand, I can't even walk into the same room with them without them spazzing out.

sorry to run off topic but do you think after this guy hatches you could ask if you can trade for the doves like we talked about?

I thought you had found some and were no longer looking for them. If you still want more buttons, let me get something set up and I'll trade birds with you. Do you know if it's a male/female pair, two males, or two females?

it's believed to be 2 females...

I had the deal set up but then the ducklings he wanted in trade died...It was because they got cold...My mom turned off the heat light because she thought they'd be fine but they tipped over they're water and froze.

Just to add They lay eggs all the time...but they're never fertile.

Well, he should be getting babies soon. He hatches mainly the ivory/silvers (that's mainly what his birds are, they're his favorites, lol), but he obviously gets others in, like red breasts, cinnamon red breasts, etc. Mine are all from the same colony of adults that the new eggs just came from.

I don't care if they're neon green as long as my hen isn't alone for much longer.

Well it's just a guess they're both girls becuase I read they should only lay 2 eggs at once...one time I got 4 eggs.

Whew, I was going to say. After messing around with it for so long, I'm getting closer to 99.5, and I figured with my luck, it would be something else once I got it set, lol.
