I posted a couple days ago ecause I found 2 of my 1 and a half year old hens dead overnight. This morning I found a 5 month old pullet dead on the floor!

Last night, I went to check everyone and she was sitting on the ground, which isnt too unusual because some of my pullets still dont roost. When i cam in the coop a few brds jumped on the roost cause there was empty space. I thought it was strange cause she didnt struggle much, but I guess I just overlooked it. i did feel her over and her crop was alittle squishy compared to the few around her who I felt for comparison. So I had planned to give her some yogurt this morning when I went down. Also yesterday I did notice a white leghorn hanging in the coop more but I cant be 100% positive it was her since I have 7 of that breed who all look similar.

Also, this was no predator..I feel dumb for not bringing her in an examining her more last night...I didnt think she was that sick or that someting would happen so quickly.
I noticed this morning that some of the other birds have loose liquidy droppings but Im not sure if that is related or not

What could this be that its killed 3 hens so quickly? What meds should I use? I want to treat immediately before I lose more birds!

Look at symptoms of Coccidiosis, Cocci is a parasitic infection of the intestinal tract. Spread by droppings which get into feed/water via droppings. Most birds have some cocci in their sml intestines, only becomes a problem when they have an overload, then we medicate to bring it back under control. Some symptoms are runny/watery poop(may or may not contain blood, depends on the strain of cocci)fluffed feathers, lethargic, weight loss, not eating/drinking properly. If symptoms match, purchase Corid(amprolium). Dose for Corid 20% powder is 1/2 tsp per gallon of water, dose for Corid 9.6% liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water. Treat ALL chicks/older hens for 5 days,do not give vitamins during treatment(interferes with medication)give vitamins after treatment. Treating chickens for cocci will not harm them, but not treating(if they have cocci)will probably result in deaths.

I think I will treat for that and sour crop. Should cover most of the bases. I can treat for sour crop with plain yogurt correct?

**i just remembered when I picked her up last night it looked like she had water dripping from her beak. I assumed she just got some water before she came in
