Hen suddenly very wobbly and can’t stand/has no balance.

My hen, Oreo, polish/silkie mix; I discovered tonight while closing the coop she was at the door not moving, wings kinda spread out, I thought she was dead/attacked, luckily alive and picked her up, placed her on the roosting bars and she lost balance and fell off. I’ve placed her in a safe place with water mixed with chicken vitamins and electrolytes, I’ve looked over her body completely and I see no apparent injuries at all, and this morning into the afternoon she was completely fine acting normal, nothing strange until putting them up for the night. I am very unsure what is going on with her, please any advice. I will say that her mother passed away due to being eggbound so it is in her line to be more at risk for being eggbound, going to be soaking her and feeling just in case this is the possibility.

I would continue to offer fluids, electrolytes, and vitamins. Offer bits of cooked egg and watery chicken feed a little later. Hard to know if she is having trouble seeing food and water because of her head feathers making it hard to see, or if she is being bullied away from them, or if she is sick. How old is she? And does she lay eggs? Look her over for lice and mites under her vent, belly, and elsewhere.

I’ll offer some food in the morning to let her rest, I know she ate some peach around lunch, I fed the whole flock some peaches and apples as a treat. She was hatched in April of 2023, she’s definitely still laying, I’m worried she’s gonna be egg bound like her mother. I’m going to do another check for any pests on her, but I will say earlier when I let them out of the coop, I did spread out diatomaceous earth around and in their coop so I’m unsure if that could be hurting her.

Pass on the DE, other won't do anything and it makes it hard for them to breathe.

She’s completely fine now, as I have found a soft egg that she passed last night, so egg bound like how her mother passed , she’s up and walking and pooping all over my porch now. I give them layer crumbles from producers pride and their egg shells back to them but I will now be adding oyster shells, unsure if she’s been prioritizing the snacks I give daily over their feed, so going to stop snack time for a bit.

I'm glad she's doing better.

I would still give her Extra Calcium for 5 days in a row to help build her up a little and hopefully harden up her shells. Soft shelled eggs are hard to expel.

Give her 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet once daily for 5 days. Pull down on her wattles and pop the tablet right into the beak, let her swallow.
