Hello I am posting this thread for anyone in the Michigan Area/ Midwest region (if you are willing) to drive.
A bit of backstory on these birds:
Out of luck my 3 current males came from a flock of 8 (You can see the others stories on the post of me introducing myself) My 3 males are Cashew, Penut, and Hazlenut. I have raised these birds directly out of my hand, giving them water via eyedroppers when they needed, lots of cuddles, and blankets and anything else they desired. Cashew is the second oldest and is not a pushover, he is ok with people but is always hesitant. Penut is the 3rd oldest and has hated the sight and touch of me since he was born, although recently he has been very comfortable with me and frequently jumps into my hand when he wants to get away from it all. Interesting item about him though, he has sneezing fits when around environments that have not been cleaned recently. Hazlenut is the 4th eldest and like Penut wants to avoid conflict and eat.
Why I need to re-home them:
I have been putting my full effort into them since they have been born but the home I live in has begun to restrict my quail care. I currently keep them in a 45in x 20in pen area and feed them egg layer feed mixed with starter chick feed with supplemental treats. My plan was to switch them over to a whole food diet with an outdoor pen but the owner of my home has put a no bird rule (convenient timing) and there have been issues around the neighborhood with cats attacking outdoor pets. Recently they have begun to be more aggressive and scalp each other (I am currently treating). If you are interested in my 3 male Japanese Quail or want more information please direct message me or send me your contact info! I never imagined them to ever be used as meat birds and would really enjoy for them to have a home where they can run around in their own large space with some females preferably.
I will also add that their cage, boxes, feed, and anything else of theirs will be included if you wish to take them in!
Thank you!
It is very late but I will add pictures tomorrow
