I have three chicks that are now 5-6 weeks old that I can’t seem to identify. Unless Rural King (Hoover’s Hatchery) gave me the wrong chicks, then these should be Easter Egger/Americana, Sapphire Gem and Prairie Bluebell Egger. Anyone have similar looking chickens and like to give an opinion on breeds? Also, we suspect the first chick might be a male. It looks different than all the others (thick legs, no tail feathers at all). Any guesses on that one's gender also? Thanks!!

Comparing things like build and leg size only works if the chicks are the same breed, and isn't always an accurate. It'd be like comparing the growth rate of a Doberman to a Lab.

I'm not seeing anything that screams cockerel, but I'm no expert, so wait for others to weigh in.

All are pullets. Breeds surprisingly look correct. The first is a Sapphire Gem, the next two the Eggers. Since they’re mixed breeds, you’re really going to have a hard time differentiating them. Theoretically if you had a girl laying green eggs and the other sky blue, that could give you an answer. With these Eggers though, egg color and appearance varies. That being said, I would guess your second is the Starlight

X3! All pullets! Leg size isn't that accurate in Sapphire gems considering the females often have chonky legs! LOL
Also, SG's have floppy combs so they come in faster. Idk, I don't want to say for sure that it's a pullet. But I am pretty positive that she is😅

Number 2 has such gorgeous colors! Do you have updated pics of her?
I attached some new pictures from today. She’s about 13 weeks old now, and I still don’t know what she is. She’s mostly gold up top and gray at the back.

She's so beautiful! I bet she's some OE mix. Update us when she starts laying!
I got my first egg from her today, and it is green! So that narrows it down to her either being an easter egger, americana or a starlight green egger (based on the types of chicks I ordered). Maybe once the others start laying, I'll be able to narrow down her breed.

Oh yay how awesome!!! Yeah starlight or EE is my bet! I hope my mystery chicken gives me green too. I got my first blue egg about two weeks ago from my CLs and I love it!
