Nothing major but we did have 3 successful hatchings so far. 2 yellow ones and one black. Momma is a Barred Rock and pappa is a California White. (I hope these are all pullets) Things started of kinda bumpy with this hen. She has a total of 16 eggs in the nest. A few days ago, I noticed that 5 had hatched but she either killed them by pecking or crushing them. Yesterday, 2 were working their way out of the shells and last night, another chick had just made the first hole in the egg. She is a much MUCH better momma now. Very careful as to where she puts her feet and is very aware of where her young ones are. Lost a total of 5 chicks. 5 eggs still in the nest, don't know if they will hatch or not. Might try candling them later to see if any movement. The other 4 eggs just vanished???? Don't know where they went.

Going to move her and babies to a XL dog carrier today and place that in the new coop with the other chicks that are now approx 12 weeks old. Hope they all get along lol.
