My babies are hatching, 3 so far, 2 almost out and 2 that pipped a little later and are a bit slower but still active. I might actually get 100% of this hatch! Wahoo!

So you did decide to use the egg carton method?

Was it effective for you?


My lockdown is next week and I'm in such a dilemma on whether or not to do egg cartons (cardboard or styrofoam) OR tissue roll cut out (found here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5642077) OR regular method.

I want a 100% hatch like yours!! Lucky!

We are up to 5 fully out now the other 2 are still working away while the others play soccer with them, lol. They are from my MIL's ducks which were supposed to be pekin's but the others look like mallards????Mallard visited Pekin and got frisky, rotfl! I will have to ask my mil again. I can't wait til they are all done and dry so I can get them out! MIL has 11 more but dh says no way, lol!
