We have 6 EE's that are a few days over 3 weeks, 3 are slow developing and just in case they end up being roosters, we bought 3 more today
if they are all pullets I'm probably going to need to sell a few off
When we picked up our first EE's the store had all different colors so we picked a variety. Tonight there were only 6 left and they were all black and white. I grabbed two that were the lightest and one darker one. Their chick fluff is crazy silky.
After I got then home I noticed they have pink toes and black legs and none of them have cheeks or beards and it kind of looks like they might have single combs. I'm not 100% sure on the comb they are pretty tiny. All the other EE's have varying shades of solid colored slate/greenish legs and 4 of the 6 have cheeks. I know EE's are mutts so about anything could happen, but all 9 of these are from the same hatchery.
These have pure white for the longer feathers and the one has pure black for the short feathers. One has a black beak, one is mottled, and one is white. They were just hatched Wednesday, it will be interesting to see what they end up as. I'll try and get some natural light photos tomorrow.
I guess this post is a 'yay, we got chicks and you all need to see them / gosh I hope these are EE's!'
