I read somewhere that a 3 row comb means boy. Is that true? I have a clutch of 6 Ameracauna chicks (9 weeks old now). 5 of them have a distinct 3 rowed comb. One has smalller comb that doesn't have 3 rows that I can separately identify. Does that mean I have 5 roosters and 1 pullet? (I hope not!) These Ameracauna are so hard to identify sex!

I've never heard that. As far as I know a pea comb has three rows whether it is a female or a male. I would go more on how prominent the comb is and whether it is getting pink/red colored. If you post some pictures that would help.

Pics would help a ton but as far as this folk tale goes I've never heard of it :/

I am encouraged to hear that 3 rows doesn't necessarily mean boy:) I will get some pics gathered up and post them:) Those little ones will NOT stand still for their glamour shots!
