3 thermometers, 3 different temps!!! HELP

I was going to use a borrowed bator until the temps plummeted, so I went out and bought a little giant. It will be still air and no turner, just didn't want the extra expenses right now. the thermometer that came with it says 99, another one says 105 with 40% humidity, and the digital one says 101 with 32% humidity. So which one is right?

It is always a crap shoot with these thermometers. I would tend to trust the diigital most as most are calibrated to some standard. Get a regular oral thermometer and place it in there too and compare that to your others and go with the two that are closest. I know money can be an issue and you should try to save $$ any where you can, but a good thermometer is the most bang for your buck when it comes to incubating. A LG will hatch, but you have to get the temp right. Be sure to measure the temp at the top of the eggs.

When I was building and testing my incubator I had the same problem with 3 thermometers, one with two probes. What I realized was that the temp actually varied alot in different places in the bator and the thermometers where actually not that far off each other. I made some adjustments in my bator to fix that problem.

When I put all the thermometers right next to each other there was only 1* difference between them.

Are all of your thermometers sitting right next to each other?

Somewhat close but not really. The bator isn't that big and it has 2 windows in it. I can read 2 in one window and the 3rd in the other window. I wanted to believe the digital since it was higher as the others are on the wire.

Thanks for the help so far as I really wanted to get my eggs in soon so that they will be hatching when I am on vacation!!

I think I have the same LG you have, and this will be my first hatch. It seems that the thermometer that came with it runs low. I bought an Accurite thermometer/hygrometer for around $7 at Walmart. I found that if the Accurite shows 101, the other thermometer laid over the top of the eggs reads around 99-100 so I'm hoping for the best.

Oh - I have the egg turner so I had to put the accurite on a small block of wood to see it clearly. Assuming that's the reason for the difference.
