Hi,
3 weeks ago my family bought 3 chicks. I got guaranteed pullets: 1 RI Red and 1 Barred Rock. I also got a mystery Bantam. My daughter begged for it, because it was the smallest chick in the batch. This picture is today- it is 3 weeks and 1 day old. Its name is Benedict or Bennie and she (I hope!) is so friendly. She loves to be held and petted and is so calm. They live in a coop in my backyard- actually they were in a box in my house till this week. They still have a heat lamp and we let them free several times a day in our yard. They are my first animals ever and they are very smart- follow us around like the Pied Piper! I'm really enjoying them, but would love to know Bennie's breed and sex, if you can help me. Thanks!! Let me know if you need more photos.

I don't have a lot of experience with determining gender... to me it looks like a pullet, but 3 weeks is a bit early to tell. The comb/tail will be more developed in a couple more weeks.

Very beautiful chick, by the way

I'm not sure about the breed. Stripe on the head + black and white. Hamburg, maybe? Sebright? Silver Campine? What did he/she look like when you originally got her?

I'm leaning toward Silver Campine... http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGA/Camp/BRKCampine.html#CampChix
If you scroll down, the chicks do have a head stripe.

Its a bit young to tell gender, and to do so, we would need better photos (a side-profile and/or comb/head photo are great). But it doesn't look that cockerel-ish right now. As for the breed, its early to tell, but the coloring on the breast makes me think it may turn out being a Mottled something. Maybe a mottled Old English Game? Or possibly a Silver Campine.

I'm going to add that it could also be a hatchery quality/mottled Silver Laced Wyandotte. Some pictures of mottled SLW chicks look similar to yours!

X2.

Post more pictures when she/he gets older, and we'll be able to tell gender and breed better.

At this point, I would also guess a OEGB. Do you have face front pictures so we could see its comb? I didn't see any but will look back to make sure you didn't already post some.
Oops!!! just noticed that is appears to have pink feet or are they lt yellow??? Sure makes a difference. So, there goes my best guess for now.
