Last week, one of our 3-week old Freedom Ranger chicks was acting lethargic. I noticed she was limping heavily also. The chicks have a nipple waterer, so she probably didn't have water for at least a day or more. I brought her inside, gave her electrolytes and yogurt, and after a few days she was happy, walking (though not 100% normal), so I put her back outside with her kin. Now, 3 days later, I've come home to find her lethargic again, sitting down. So I picked her up and noticed she is covered in runny, light brown poop. I cleaned the poop off, and notice that the skin on her belly and around vent is very red. She is still limping, and seems extra disoriented, flapping wings.
I brought her inside again, and have syringe-fed her electrolyte water, which she happily drinks, though still won't drink by herself. Also won't eat, but last week she loved the yogurt, so will try that again.
It is possible that she got injured two weeks ago in a chicken-tractor moving incident, though everybody seemed happy in the week that followed that incident (someone got stuck). I've palpated both legs, and nothing seems broken.
Thank you for reading, and I appreciate any help.
